Steve and Barbara meet the Austin Honor Flight on July 12 to photograph eight military veterans including six from WWII, and one from the Vietnam and Korean Wars. It was a beautiful and the heat was not a big factor despite being in mid July in humid Washington D.C. The Honor Flight had varied it routine this flight and traveled to the Air Force Memorial on July 11 to hear a concert by the USAF band. Before coming to the WWII Memorial on July 12, the group visited the Arlington National Cemetery to view the Changing of the Guard. In addition, instead of box lunches for lunch on July 12, the Knights of Columbus treated the veterans to a great meal. And at the conclusion of the HF, the bus carrying the group took a tour past he White House, Georgetown, Embassy Row, and other attractions in Washington D.C. The group departed for Austin at Reagan Airport at 6pm. See the action by clicking on the photoshow link abve.
