Cantor Hinda Labovitz sings at the Cantors Concert
Leisure World Celebrated the 67th Anniversary of the founding of Israel with a special program featuring a Cantors Concert and a update on Israel and the Middle East at the auditorium in Clubhouse 2. Itai Bar-Dov, Counselor for Political Affairs at the Israeli Embassy in Washington D.C. gave the update and the Cantors Concert included Hinda Labovitz, Rogetr Eisenberg, Rebecca Pohl, and Sidney Rabinowitz. The Leisure World organizations that made this possible were the Jewish Residents of Leisure World, Mount Scopus Hadassah, Na’Amat, and the Jewish War Veterans Post 567.
Itai Bar-Dov also answered questions about the two state options ( a Separate Palestinian state would only be viable under certain conditions..which is not likely under the current climate), The Iranian treaty ( not a good one according to Itai Bar-Dov), brain drain to the U.S. and various other current issues. The Cantors entertained the filled to capacity auditorium with familiar music from Jewish and Israeli traditions. There were refreshments after the program.
