My VITA site hits 200 Taxpayers

My VITA site, the Wheaton Library VITA went over 200 taxpayers this week.  We are slightly behind last year due to the late start and snow cancellation last February VITA.  But by this Thursday we should be even with last year's numbers or ahead.  We are lucky to have a new preparer who is fluent in Spanish.  And we also have six other new volunteers to replace the six volunteers who left us ( Two moved to Seattle) And they are fast learners.  Just someone ...keep the snow away!...

Wheaton Library VITA off and running!

As of February 7th, our VITA site has helped about 100 taxpayers, successfully e-filing nearly 90 federal ( and about the same state) tax returns. IRS is not preparing returns and guess who they are sending the people to???? Three guesses and the first two do not count! Yes us!!!  At the Wheaton Library last Thursday night, we had to turn away about a dozen  people because we could not handle the huge crowd. But we did help 69 taxpayers. It is going to be a long filing season.....and if we just could get some funding........
